This one is 6 years old and almost 18" across. Those really do look like little mouse ears, don't they? I got his siblings "Holy" and "Frosted" last year and I wonder if their leaf shapes at maturity will be as adorable.
I'm excited about my BME. I already had to repot him as his roots were coming out the drainage hole. I got him as one eye and right now he's got about 5-6 new buds coming up around the origional. (somehow BME is a "he", lol, I guess its the beefy leaves )
BME is at the bottom of this cascade of hostas. There are actually two of them there. Fast grower, looks good all year, takes some sun, has lovely blossoms...what's not to like? Ed, that last pic of yours in bloom is really great. I love the way you have it situated next to the rock.

I sure hope that Holy Mouse Ears and Frosted Mouse Ears turn out to be as nice as the original (or better) but if not this will always be a classic. I think this family of plants are my most anticipated for the spring!
Thanks for starting these series, Cowboy. They are terrific this time of year
I love the little mouse with blue ears! Too cute! I took some shots of my BME yesterday with the super macro of the new buds. I'm excited to have a little clump!
I'm so glad the forum is set up to the photos don't make you have to scroll back and forth to read!
