Storing Pollen on a Q-tip....I love you
r some emergency pollen from last year in the bottom of my freezer.......
I would like to express my appreciation to whoever came up with the pollen-loaded halved Q-tip in folded foil in which to both collect and dispense pollen. Better than "expressing my appreciation"......make that somewhere between "I love you" and "thanks". Probably closer to "I love you" on the gratitude spectrum. Applying the pollen with a Q-tip is ever so much easier than a dried-up pollen delivery system stick (forgot the word--it's not antler).

Hey Mal.
Did you clip off the anthers and store them at all? I've never heard of using a q-tip, and you say you wrap in foil and freeze, do you put into a container of some sort so you can label it and know what's what? Hmmm, I'll have to try it...thanks for posting this.

You don't keep the anthers (which dry up and are hard to handle anyway) just the pollen.
I fold the foil up in 3rds the pollen loaded Q-uip, fold over the sides, flatten it to get rid of air pockets, then into a film cannister.
That pollen I used was as bright a yellow as when i gathered it! ( The foil IMHO, is necessary to catch the pollen that falls off--you can just dab the Q-tip in it..)

I'm not sure, John... my copy includes a great deal of begatting... but no mention of Q tips.
I believe a missing paragraph notes that on the eighth day, He created corporations and lawyers... while he was still kind of groggy from the rest day. (Never buy a car that was made on a Monday.) So I think pollen dates from day six and Q tips from some time after day 8.
